"A juxtaposition between good ol' fashion human longing and electronic futurism" - MTV
Cascading Slopes is the new project of Jacob Graham, founding member and synthesist of indie-pop group The Drums. He began his professional music career over a decade ago touring and playing synthesizers for Joy Electric.
With Cascading Slopes, Jacob once again exhibits his life long obsession with beautiful, sad and sometimes mysterious melodies on the only instruments that can accurately convey them. His otherworldly sound has a strong lyrical anchor in the real world, usually dealing with ordinary topics like love, loss, friendship and ostracism. Imagine a substitute teacher from New England in 1978 suddenly deciding to make folk music with synthesizers—that should give you a pretty good idea of the sound of Cascading Slopes.
