"A juxtaposition between good ol' fashion human longing and electronic futurism" - MTV
Cascading Slopes is the new project of Jacob Graham, founding member and synthesist of indie-pop duo The Drums. He began his professional music career over a decade ago touring and playing synthesizers for Joy Electric.
With Cascading Slopes, Graham is at his musical purest—using nothing but analog synthesizers and drum machines, spring reverbs and tape delays. The debut album, Towards a Quaker View of Synthesizers, is about a lonely childhood in the midwest, a conversion to Quakerism, and an obsession with the writings of C.S. Lewis. It's the romantic edge where mysticism and the real world meet one another.
